Gururaj Deshpande

The first guest speaker for DFP3 was Gururaj Deshpande who is the founder of Deshpande Foundation. He talked about the essential qualities of an entrepreneur and inspired us with his story of success.  I think he is one of the most successful entrepreneur and a live example for social entrepreneur the fellows can learn from.

Jayashree Deshpande

We had Jayashree Deshpande as our guest speaker during our orientation days. There was a small talk by her to us. After that she visited all the charts prepared by us where we could talk to her about our interests and future goals.

Ayyappa Masgi

Ayyappa Masagi is the founder of the Water Literacy Foundation. He was very much passionate about the cause he was working for.  He told us the story of his journey of his campaign. There was a lot of work he did in the field of rain water and water conservation. And he was trying to create awareness among people by all possible means. There was a short video shown to us which had the theme of rain water harvesting in which he acted and enforced the cause of protecting water resources.

Jagadeesh Hiremath

Jagadish hiremath is an entrepreneur who is successful in the field of automobile. He shared his experience of starting from being an employee in a company outside India to becoming an entrepreneur. The story inspired everyone and it was again a reinforcing fact for all of us that all it takes to be a successful entrepreneur is hard work and determination.

Sudheendra Tatti

Sudheendra Tatti is the founder of the Pegasus. He had mission of providing solar home lighting systems to the rural poor in India. He shared the experience of establishing his company, its accomplishments and the experiences during the processes.

Eeranna

Eeranna can be considered as the best example of the rural entrepreneur. The success he achieved is beyond the accomplishment of any urban businessman. The most appealing asset he had was the confidence to do things. At the same time he had strong convictions about what he is going to do and fellows had an opportunity to propose their business plan and find out the viability of it.

Ravindra Hommbalemath

Dr. Ravindra Hombalemath was a dentist but had been working in the field of social sector. He had mainly worked for creating awareness about the ill effects of using tobacco. He discussed the scenario of health sector in India. He also described about the prevalence of Flourosis in the northern part of Karnataka.

Jagadeesh

The module Eco – tourism was dealt by Mr. Jagadeesh. He discussed the concept of Eco – tourism and its importance. As a part of the ecosystem human beings have the utmost responsibility of taking care of our environment. He discussed about the pollution caused by human beings in the environment.

Suresh Heblikar

Suresh heblikar is an artist and actively working environmentalist. He discussed about the present environmental issues. He talked about the impact of human activities on environment.

Ruth Stinger

Ruth stinger is a scientist from England who had been working in Hubli for the betterment of the prevailing biomedical waste management system. She talked about the different types of biomedical wastes and its effects on the environment and human beings.

Virendra Hiremath

Virendra hiremath is the founder of the ‘Vatsalya’ hospital. In the class he discussed about the health sector system in India. He presented the gaps in the public health system and how the poor are affected. He shared the experience of starting the ‘Vatsalaya’ with the aim of filling this huge gap and what it takes for the success.

Manivannan

Mr. Manivannan is the District Commissioner of Mysore. His session was a short one but he gave us some points to ponder. He interacted with us to find out how differently individuals think and he raised the question towards us to how to connect with different individual’s thinking.

Gopal Hegde

Gopal hegde is the chief editor of the newspaper. He discussed about the social and mass media and their importance. He shared some of his experience as being a journalist and the kind of corruption every bureaucratic system in India. All of us got a very good insight into the aspects of media.
